Hey Gang,

I was taking a look at the Technology Presentations and the list is getting
pretty short. I know that there has been a few people who have expressed an
interest in doing one of these. You may want to step up and make your
intentions clear now. Hopefully we can get a slot for you in the coming
months.

Brian Horncastle is listed tentatively for a WINE presentation next month.
Brian if you're out there can you comment back on this? Has your schedule
lightened enough for you to do this? Can you confirm or postpone?

Rob Lewko has also stepped forward to do a presentation on Emacs, brave soul
that he is. Rob, if Brian cannot do his next month would you be willing and
able to do yours a month early? I realize that this is short notice and I am
asking a lot. I apologize

Alternatively, I am doing a demo of IPCop and giving anyone a hand with
setting up GPG/PGP public key encryption at the InstallFest/TweakFest next
month at Nexus. I could turn either of these into a full blown presentation
if there were interested parties.

For IPCop, it would be an install, setting up as a Red/Green firewall and
patching with updates. I can also demo administering from the Web interface
as well as SSH and the machine itself. I'm still learning this one myself so
I may not be able to delve too much deeper than this.

As another option I could save Aaron some trouble and do the GPG/PGP public
key encryption presentation next month. I am just getting started with it
also, so it may be a little rough around the edges.

FYI, if you haven't checked the list in a while
(http://calgary.linux.ca/index.php?CLUG%20Technology%20Presentations) we
have the following requested topics:

    *  PGP/GPG email security
    * Firewall/Gateway (IPCop, SmoothWall?)
    *  Web hosting best practices...
    * OpenSSH
    * Network Installs
    * Configuring Web/Ftp Servers
    * Compiling Device Drivers for new/barely supported Hardware
    * Configuring Apache
    * Kylix, Python, Ruby, PHP
    * DNS Install and Configuration
    * IPChains

Anyone want to take their pick? Anyone want to give a show of support? Make
a suggestion or what have you?
