Hey Kevin,

First off, thanks for stepping forward. I think another Samba presentation
would be a good thing.

According to the website the Tech Prezzies should be 15 - 60 minutes. This is
a guideline. Hence the introductory qualification for most of them. Some of
the presentations last year ran long IMHO. When this happens you run the risk
of losing your audience. This was particularly obvious with some of the
programming presentations.

This is no slight against any of the fine gentleman who presented Kylix,
Python, Ruby or Compilers. Those are tough subjects to compress into an hour.
I guess personally speaking I would appreciate the presentations staying
within those timeframes as we do have other things to discuss during
meetings. I also want to say for the record that I particularly enjoyed them
even though they ran long.

This would be what I personally would be interested in. I still don't have my
network set up the way I would like. I've just reinstalled my laptop and my
desktop and so I am in a good position to take advantage of something like
this. I'm sure that I am not the only one that would be interested. FYI, I'm
using CUPS as well : )

Since it may be a while till you are able to present, maybe take an informal
poll either on the list or at a meeting. This is what John intends to do
about a potential Kylix presentation.

My wife is actually talking about taking the penguin for a spin on her laptop.
The kids are still stuck playing Diablo, Warcraft and Counter-Strike on their
machines so not too much hope there. I think learning Samba is a necessary
evil.

One last thing in this long missive. At least for the Linux side of things
file sharing became easier for me with the aid of (Kio) Fish in Konqueror.
(Thanks again Marcel) That is fun stuff. It doesn't address sharing a printer
though...
