Title: RE: (clug-talk) (hardware) Athlon vs P4

AMD calls their 2 Ghz the 2400+ because when you check the benchmarks it performs on par with an Intel of 2.4 Ghz.  All to do with how the instructions are handled in AMD vs Intel CPUs...

The Asus A7N8X doesn't have onboard video, only the 8x capable AGP slot so a videocard is needed.

nVidia made news recently on their change for driver support - this article takes a look at the new setup:

ATI's support is pretty good though I hear.

Isn't that unusual that the clock speed is lower: 2GHz in 2400+ vs 1.83GHz in
2500+? Perhaps they were concerned about the thermal output?

Is there an onboard video available with A7N8X Deluxe? I can't find it in the
specs.

So should I buy something like V9180 Magic from Asus? But there is no Asus or
NVIDIA GeForce4 on the X Windows driver status page. And no downloads for
Linux on Asus website.

Thanks.
