Isn't that unusual that the clock speed is lower: 2GHz in 2400+ vs 1.83GHz in
2500+? Perhaps they were concerned about the thermal output?

Nope. The newer form-factor, faster frontside bus and larger cache means that the barton can outperform the previous version of Athlon. AMD bases their PR ratings on actual performance tests.

Is there an onboard video available with A7N8X Deluxe? I can't find it in the
specs.

Interesting A7N8X Deluxe doesn't have onboard video. I am surprised they don't have version with onboard video especially since all the Nforce1s came with it.

If you want a good deal on an NForce2 boards look at the biostar. They offer a good package for around $175.

So should I buy something like V9180 Magic from Asus? But there is no Asus or
NVIDIA GeForce4 on the X Windows driver status page. And no downloads for
Linux on Asus website.

You need to download NForce Drivers from the Nvidia website. -- Mark Lane, CET mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Hard Data Ltd. http://www.harddata.com T: 01-780-456-9771 F: 01-780-456-9772 11060 - 166 Avenue Edmonton, AB, Canada, T5X 1Y3 --> Ask me about our Excellent 1U Systems! <--
