Dan, With respect to comments earlier this evening about changing the X resolution in X4.3 on the fly... X 4.3 comes with a utiltiy "xrandr" that does what you want. $ xrandr -q # lists available modes $ xrandr -s # # change to listed mode , or provide screen dimensions I just tried it and it works slick. jeff
