If you're at the library, then perhaps if you did a dd if=/dev/cdrom of=/cdimage.iso and then mounted the image, you MIGHT be able to get grip to read it as a cd, but I doubt it, namely because cdroms with audio aren't mounted and even if you mounted the image, grip couldn't just see that file.
