Most of the site is out of the box Zope and Plone. I've modified the header file to use my image header, modified the footer to remove text not pertinent to my site, and modified the visible tabs (I don't expect to do a lot of news or events at this point). I've also modified the "slots" to remove the Login box and About box on the left, the calendar on the right, and added the events box.
This was all done using the Zope and Plone management interfaces, and didn't require any coding on my part. The troubles are finding the information to do all this. I had to dig for bout a week to get to where I'm at now. Still need to dig/research more to modify the template the way I'd like - I'll probablly need to do some code for this though. The best places I've found to help with Zope and Plone are the Zope Book, and the Plone Book. These are available on their respective sites. It's a different way of looking at web sites (i.e. object based, not file based), so takes a bit of abstract thinking (at least thinking through things a bit more at first). I'm intending on documenting the steps I had to go through on my site. Partly to record it for when/if I need to do it again, and partly to share the information and help improve the available documentation. But that will be a week or so yet. Hope that helps some.... It's very clean and well organized, easy to navigate and to look at. By the way, if I may ask, are you using css or such. How are you making use of zope and plone on the site? If you can point me to the right place, I can do the reading myself if you like. Thanks. Rafael.
