Well, I seem to be unloved by my computer. I have 2 different distros (experimenting) on here and neither one will let me log on as me. I already posted my gentoo woes, but this time its Mandrake 9.2...

It's allowing me to log in as root, but when I try to login as regular user it locks up after I type in my password and hit enter. No error msg, just locks up. The only other iota of a clue I have is that it was locking up on the hardware detection, so I disabled that, and it boots fine. Any suggestions?

My system:

Toshiba Satellite 5200 Laptop, P4 2Ghz, 512MB RAM, Nvidia Geforce4 460 Go 64MB....normally runs good in Linux but hates me of late :( need help...

Apologies for the lack of detail, but thats all I know at the moment.
