Well...after trying to set things up through a CD-based distro and failing and trying to update the red hat install i decided just to say "screw it" and reinsitall. Instead of going though the customize section again, I just choose workstation. My default is a text-based login and I have successsfully logged in to X. WOOHOO!!!
I think this might be a better way to do it. Will give me an opportunity to explore what is happening and learn how to update and uninstall things. Thanks again for everyones help! Maybe this computer (yet to be named will make an appearance at an install/tweakfest someday. > -----Original Message----- > From: Cameron Nikitiuk [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: November 12, 2003 8:00 PM > To: Clug-Talk > Subject: Install - Red Hat 8.0 - UPDATE > > > Hi All, > > IYR I was having troubles with a fresh install of Red Hat 8.0. > After discussions with people it seems as if something got > pooched with my X configuration.
