I just compiled my modem drivers, with the very same gcc I compiled my kernel
with, but when I try to load the modules...

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/src/pctel-0.9.6>> modprobe pctel
/lib/modules/2.4.23/misc/pctel.o: The module you are trying to load
(/lib/modules/2.4.23/misc/pctel.o) is compiled with a gcc
version 2 compiler, while the kernel you are running is compiled with
a gcc version 3 compiler. This is known to not work.
/lib/modules/2.4.23/misc/pctel.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.23/misc/pctel.o
failed
/lib/modules/2.4.23/misc/pctel.o: insmod pctel failed

while Im at it, anyone know anything about getting lucent scorpio ac97
winmodems working as linmodems? Its the internal modem on my laptop.

...Plus I think my time is fixed, can someone verify? tks...
