Hi I will try a partial answer: http://marge.cineca.it/aventuri/public/Linux_on_a_Toshiba_Satellite_S3000-214.html
for the Lucent Scorpio. as for the compiler problem, try gcc -v and see what version it says. Also make sure you are actually running the kernel "you" compiled, and not a stock one : uname -a and pls. Can you say what distro and some hardware info tooo :-) Cheers Szemir On January 6, 2004 15:10, Nick W wrote: > I just compiled my modem drivers, with the very same gcc I compiled my > kernel with, but when I try to load the modules... > > [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/src/pctel-0.9.6>> modprobe pctel > /lib/modules/2.4.23/misc/pctel.o: The module you are trying to load > (/lib/modules/2.4.23/misc/pctel.o) is compiled with a gcc > version 2 compiler, while the kernel you are running is compiled with > a gcc version 3 compiler.
