Hello Jason, Here are the answers to your poll.
1 I was using Mandrake 7.2, I believe, and then mandrake 8.0. 2 I am now using Debian with kernel 2.8 using Libranet to install it. I do not remember which version of Debian the libranet package installed for me. I have upgraded from open office 1.0 to open office 1.1 since I switched to Debian. 3 I switched to Debian because even in Mandrake 8.0 my printing was not reliable. Ever since I switched to Debian, my printer works perfectly. I also really like open office 1.1 for many applications. 4 I use KDE window manager in Xwindow and I use the Vi editor in text mode for things which do not need to be in a fancy word processor or spread sheet. Once I get to feel more confident in linux, I might try out a few other distributions. But for now I am completely satisfied with Debian. I use the application KMail in KDE. When I get more confident in linux I might try Mutt some time. But my brother Mel says that I have a long way to go before I should try Mutt. I hope this information is useful.
