1.
  Firewall - IPCop 1.3
  Server - Gentoo 1.4
Workstation - Win2K (for work related reasons)
  Roommate's PC - Suse 8.2

2.
  Red Hat, Mandrake, Suse

3.
Needed server configuration, without the bloat of RPM based distros, so
Gentoo was the answer for me.
Also learned MUCH MUCH more about linux than with the other distros
Installed Suse for my roommate because it works and is relatively simple
to learn for a newbie.
(he hasn't asked me to put windows back on it yet, so I guess he's doing
ok).

4.
  For my server - none.
  for my workstation - N/A (doesn't apply)
  Roommate's PC - KDE

Subject: [clug-talk] Poll: What's your distro?

Just for fun...

1. What distro are you currently running?

2. What distro were you running before that?

3. Why did you switch?

4. What DE/Window Manager do you use?

My answers:

1. SuSE 9.0

2. Mandrake 9.1

3. Had always heard good things about SuSE/YaST; the Novell hype; I've
yet to be impressed by a Debian distro (MEPIS came close).

4. KDE

Cheers

Jason
