Mandrake 8.1 (desktop - no need to upgrade yet), SuSE 8.2 (my laptop, family and friends computers), Slackware (experiments on my extra computers), Knoppix (to demo Linux and to use as a troubleshooting tool for boxes having driver issues when installing Linux), and I'm preparing one system to run Gentoo (experimenting) > 2. What distro were you running before that? RedHat 5.2 > 3. Why did you switch? - To learn more about desktop friendly distros (Mandrake and SuSE) as opposed to RedHat (and Gentoo) which are great to run a network. - The extra goodies. - To pass on more user friendly desktops and distributions to family and friends (SuSE and Mandrake). > 4. What DE/Window Manager do you use? Blackbox for simplicity and efficiency, then KDE... when I can't find somethig or remember a console command.
