no, there's a bunch of stuff that happens prior to getting to the "MAIL FROM"
command, though much of it is optional. what version of KDE are you using
again? and if you haven't, can you try upgrading to 3.2 and see if that works
any better for you (the smtp support was rewritten in 3.2)? also, make sure
you don't have SSL/TLS or AUTH options selected in the SMTP settings if
Telus doesn't support any of that.

there's a new address picker in 3.2 that allows you to define To, Cc and Bcc
recipients (as well as distribution lists and other neat things). to
compliment this new dialog, future releases of KMail will have an address
entry area a bit more like what you see in Mozilla Mail: a list of addresses
with each marked as To:, Cc:, Bcc: in a vertical list with one address (or
dist list) per line.

whee! another satisfied customer!

heh.. yeah, i know what you mean. a LOT of people actually like that interface
though. crazy people. and for those people, there's Kontact in KDE 3.2 (and
beyond). allows you to use KMail and it's PIM friends together without
sacrificing the "single purpose, single app" style of interface that
apparently you and i both appreciate.

hrm... you mean the mbox format? if so, Evo does indeed support mbox. that
said, kmailcvt (KMail Converter) is a great tool for moving from email client
to another (esp, or perhaps specifically, kmail ;)
