The box in question runs KDE 3.1.4 [I think], its the version thats shipped 
with mdk 9.2. The same problem was surfacing with 9.1 [KDE 3.1?], but if 
humanly possible we can upgrade to a newer KDE with any rpm-hunting luck. Im 
still convinced mdk 9.2 was pushed out prematurely, but the box isnt mine so 
upgrading KDE is probably the route to go for now, especially if SMTP support 
is improved. Im 99% sure the messages were being sent plain text with no sort 
of encryption, though thats something to double check and Ill let you know.
