I am currently running the Dynsite software that updates my TELUS ip with
dyndns.org.

Its quite fast, and detects my IP change quickly.

Now in a parallel e-mail someone pointed out that DNS propogation time
might increase - well you could get around this problem by setting the TTL
for the DNS record to the bare minimum allowed by DynDNS.org. ( 0??)

This way there is no valid DNS record cached anywhere in some remote dns
for your site - so every customer would have to mandatorily lookup the
dyndns dns servers to get an IP. The only customers loosing out are those
who have an open webpage during the transition ( low probability). In any
case, you can ask shaw to make sure that any IP change should be between
midnight and 3 am - all they need to do is to adjust the DHCP server for
you.
