Thanks everyone for the advice so far. I will have to dig into it further when I get
back home.

I should further clarify my situation. I actually have windows 2000 running on hda
(20GB) and I do have access to partition magic 7.0. I have 3 partitions fullfilling
the following rolls and Suse did recognize them during install. I do have a copy of
Knoppix around as well and thought that might help.
C - SYSTEM (OS, Apps, etc.). Have less than a GB available for space.
D - DATA (all my core data files). Have about 7 GB or so available on there.
E - TEMP (Windows Swap, Temporary Internet Files & Quarantine Area). 1Gb in size but
not all being used.

I haven't used the recovery console enough to know exactly what to do, but I can
always pull a book from my shelf. And not that I am against GRUB or anything but
would using LILO help the situation any? Seeing as I have PartMag as well I know they
have bootmagic in there as well. I am wondering if I could install it from the PM
rescue disk and go that way?

I do want to maintain the 20GB for now as it is my primary active environment right
now and I know migration will take a bit of time to get everything over and tight. I
have a machine that is currently running a working version of Red Hat 8.0 on it and
was planning to move the 20GB drive there once I had tested and transfered any games
and such to the Suse environment.

>From the advice I am given am I correct in assuming that I should be taking the
>following steps in the following order. Any further suggestions on other steps or a
>change in order would be excellent:
1) Reinstall Suse 9 from CD and change bootloader (GRUB or LILO) to hdb (160GB).
2) Failing 1, remove 20GB & change 160 GB to master and repeat 1 with bootloader
loaded on hda.
3) Check BIOS and see if drive recognized properly. If not, flash BIOS and check
again.
4) Run fdisk /mbr and see if that corrects problem.
5) Use Recovery Console to try and correct issue.
6) Give up on the whole damn thing...become a budist monks and swear off on the evils
of technology!!!

Any thoughts?
