Argh! I thought I was on the right path after the installfest and would only require a few tweaks here and that. But since the IFest, I have come across the following errors: * lost internet connectivity * Trying to figure out how to update software. I have been reading and probably just need to look a bit deeper and spend sometimes doing it. Maybe just having a brain fart. * tried to log in as cameron (new user) and I get an error saying that I can't write to my \home directory. If I remember my setting properly (or the way I want it to be anyways) is to have the 133+GB partition for data. * Not sure how I would access the 20GB (Windows 2K NTFS drive) to test applications through wine to find out which ones work and which ones don't. * Trying to get Evolution working so that I can migrate away from Outlook.
I see my top three priorities happening in the following order: 1) Net connectivity for root and all users. 2) User access for user cameron with \home directory set correctly. 3) Email through evolution On the other hand I have some good news to report. I had a couple dead portables sitting around and finally got around to playing with them a bit. But a little fiddling and I now have my WinCE computer back from the dead as well as my newly acquired Apple PowerBook 140. I am particularly happy about the WinCE unit because I understand that it will sync under Linux and for the price I paid for it I didn't want to get rid of it. Any help anyone can offer... lease let me know. Would love to have someone physically be here to help me, but I know that isn't always possible. _______________________________________________ clug-talk mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-talk_clug.ca
