They were the ones insistent upon bringing in insecure software (a la Windows) to the detriment of more secure software (a la *nix) in a naive attempt to minimize costs. Business people are neither trained nor capable of making technical decisions; that's what they hire technical people to do. I can't remember working in a *nix shop where the admins weren't vehemently opposed to replacing *nix with the bean counters' and pointy heads' idea of a cheaper alternative. The result is what we have now; insecure networks, exploding support costs, and Windows based LANs "protected" by *nix firewalls. -- Any technology distinguishable from magic is insufficiently advanced.
