That is the LILO problem what you are experiencing. Try to boot form CD or
rescue floppy with the parameter root=/dev/hda1
(supposing your root partition is installed on /dev/hda1 or change
this parameter to appropriate one)
and check what's going on in the
/etc/lilo.conf file
Correct the errors there, check if the boot and root partitions
are the right ones, run
/sbin/lilo
and reboot. Be sure you have connected your HDD cables in the right way
and remember: Primary master=/dev/hda, Primary slave=/dev/hdb,
Secondary master=/dev/hdc, Secondary slave=/dev/hdd and no other way.
I guess the problem can be hidden somewhere in the incorrect
hard disk or partition identification.

Good luck
Ray

Hi Gang :

I installed a couple IPCop's already so I am a bit familiar with the setup process.
But yesterday I ran into an issue. After I completed the install -and rebooted the PC-
things came to a HALT.

I tried 3 different harddisks, played a bit with bios settings but no luck so far.

The last line on the screen, right after the bios messages (mem, hd etc) is

LI_

... Li underscore ... anybody ?

Its an older PII that worked just fine before I tried IPCop on it.

TIA

Peter
