Hey guys,

I just upgraded to KDE 3.2.3 yesterday (Slackware 9.1, contrib packages from
KDE mirror). Everything seems to be working fine except kdm. When I try to
login using kdm, X restarts and it plops me back down at a kdm login prompt.

I did some Googling yesterday but I didn't come across anything relevant to my
iteration or system (others have experienced it, but mostly just Debianites
in older releases).

It is possible I have a bit of cruft from contrib and 3rd-party package
upgrades through the 3.2.x series, but I did do an 'installpkg *.tgz' as part
of troubleshooting which should put everything in it's proper place. I tried
digging into kdmrc, etc. but nothing changed, and there's nothing obviously
incriminating in /bin/dmesg or /var/log/messages.

Any suggestions as to where can I look for other relevant messages or steps I
can take to debug this problem?

If it is a problem with the contrib packages, I'd like to help sort it out.
If it's my system, I'd just like kdm back. ;-)

I am using gdm right now to login, but I miss some of the features kdm
provides.

Thanks guys,
Curtis
