As I am rebuilding my firewall I didn't have internet connection yesterday evening... amazing how fast I mis 'my' google ;-)
After I posted to the group this (early) morning I googled for it a bit ( between work )
I think it is a HW/bios issue, old HW isn't so good with 'big' harddisks.
I got a 2,1 HD not sure if I have to mark it as 'normal' or LBA or ... in the bios ???
IPCop doesn't complain during format and install so I don't think it is a cabling issue.
I got a very old 0,5 GB HD laying around, maybe I should try that one :-s
More try and error tonight.
