Hi gang.
I just tried to put the classic movie "Willow" into my DVD drive. I got
a prompt that indicated a multimedia cd had been inserted, and would I
like to open it with Kaffeine. "Sure!" I said, but then Kaffeine
complained it didn't have the codec... A message appeared stating "This
version of Xine lacks support for playing DVD discs for legal reasons",
and gave a reference to a URL for more detail
(http://portal.suse.com/sdb/en/2003/09/xine_dvd.html). So, it looks as
though there are no DVD movie players available.

you need to download libdvdread and its associated files and the player mplayer

I use it pretty frequently to watch DVDs on my linux desktop.
You can watch it under Kaffeine, but you need the libdvdcss librariries etc,
you can get them from here http://cambuca.ldhs.cetuc.puc-rio.br/xine/
I have gone through this a couple of times now and gives good results.
I have to enable DMA on the DVD player.

Would it be possible for some one to demo what is needed in a mini-prezzy at the next meeting, and how to set up such a solution? A lot of our members use Suse, and it seems to be one of it's weak points when you compare it to Mandrake which I understand supports dvd playing right out of the box.
