A typical overreaction by an organization too dumb / lazy to care, if their simplistic reaction to the spam problem is creating havoc with innocent bystanders. I have more choice language for that type of behavior, but this is a family mailing list :)
If you have full control over your mail server, you may be able to enable it to listen on port 587. And then you can configure your email clients inside the Telus network to use that port for SMTP.
Or you can send your outbound mail through the Telus mail server. I don't think they are rewriting your from address, so you can keep using your own mail server.
When you say port 110 is blocked, do you mean inbound or outbound? Are you sure about that? It's the first time I've heard that.

And those are the only ones that I do know about, I can’t even begin to imagine what else they are blocking that I don’t even know.
So what do I do now? What did you guys do?
I was thinking of VPNing my whole infrastructure and keep it out of Telus’s dirty hands but I’m so so afraid that they will block the VPN too … they got me … :`-(
… ooh shit … I just had a bad though … my SSH? Will that be gone too?
I feel like I’m at my high school computer lab … everything blocked off … it’s making me claustrophobic.

You don’t realize how much you love something until it’s taken away from you … slowly .. you adapt … you think that it is all in your head … you adapt some more and next you realize that it is all gone. It’s like some drama/horror movie.
