yes, Mambo seems nice and is one of the more popular one's; however I do cringe a bit hearing talk about specific systems without having more clarity about the requirements; falling in love with a specific solution too early is a danger on the way to a good decision ...

another interesting resource site for CMS comparison shopping is (contains some commercial systems, too, but that may make it even more interesting);

I like that site. Thanks Chris.

A quick browse through some of the packages listed, and I think I really like the Mambo server (http://www.mamboserver.com/). I don't know if this would be suitable for CLUG, but it looks pretty polished. I think I'll be considering it for my own site down the road....

There are only a few of points holding me back from recommending it to CLUG:
1. Lack of experience with the product.
2. Lack of information on how often it is updated, or how suseptible it is to attack. I suspect this package might put us back into the same boat as PHPNuke after the first hack.
3. I think it might be over kill for what CLUG needs (though it does allow user management, with different access levels).

Of course, these are my own opinions....

Hi all,

Came across this link a while ago while looking for feature-rich solutions
for a non-profit org and thought it may contain useful info/demos
especially in light of recent CMS discussions for CLUG.

Anyway, check it out when you have a moment

Cheers!
