Yes, it is my opinion and it is one that is shared by a number of my peers
within this group. I use Linux so I think you can guess how I feel about
Microsoft but as I said, this is a public list and to anyone else in the
world reading our posts, use of MS bashing comes off as petty. I have never
agreed with smear campaigns in politics and I don't agree with it in regards
to software. In my opinion it has no place on a mailing list. As I said you
are entitled to your opinions, I had no intention of suggesting you were not.

I am an advocate for Free and Open Source Software. I am not so much of a
zealot that I will turn my back completely on closed source software. Some if
it is very good. In some instances like work I don't have the choice. For the
most part I do strive to find an Open Source app for tasks that I wish to
perform on my computers. My belief in the idea of Free Software extends or
comes out of my morals.

I am aware of what this group is, don't ever think that I am not. I had a hand
in making the group being what it is today. I had a large part in writing our
Bylaws so don't lecture me on what CLUG is or isn't.

I ask that people refrain from Microsoft bashing or referring to them by some
cute witty misspelling. Doing so is playing the same game that they play.
What we say about them comes across with less authority when using this
practice. You may not care about appearances or diplomacy but I have to as a
part of my job. I like to think we are morally superior not just in our
choice of software. Prove me right.

I would gladly sit down with you and discuss my many opinions on Microsoft the
company, its principals and its products. I will not drag them out here and I
ask that you do likewise.
