All interoperability to date comes from the OSS side. MS is only now attempting it because OSS has finally caught up to where it's a threat. MS flounders on 'standards' [loose term] in an attempt to DESTROY interoperability, because it suits their purpose. Give us specs on WinFS so we can inter-operate the day longhorn comes out... oh wait, still waiting for NTFS. Had to reverse engineer MSNs webcam protocol. But we're catching up. Now they're noticing us.
