Toshiba M30 or variant thereof with the nvidia graphics (ATI and Linux don't seem to mix well IMO). I use one at work, runs Linux without hw issue except perhaps for the winmodem (never used it) There is even an open-source driver for the intel wireless card nowadays.William Astle wrote:
I'm considering purchasing a laptop on which I'll be running Linux. Does anyone have any recommendations for a laptap? I don't need anything terribly spectacular since I'm not so much into the gaming and all that jazz. I just need something that will work with X. Any pointers/recommendations are welcome.
I am not, however, in the market for a used laptop.
I got a P266 with 64MB RAM 2GB drive...Interested?
There is a windows tax, but the HW is great. I think right around 2000.00 is the price I've seen at future shop.
