I installed Suse 9.2 on my Compaq Presario X1000 with no problems. The
centrino controls work great (changing speed and power settings
etc...). I only needed to go find the wireless rpm that didn't come on
the download DVD. There's even a distro that is focused on the X1000
http://x1000.bitbuilder.com/ig/ but I haven't had a chance to try it out
yet.
