Was it working before, say under Windows?  If so and you still have 
access to a Win box you could try capturing port data and see if that 
reveals anything.  You could probably use something like ethereal or I 
think the tool is called portmon (sysinternals I think), but it might 
just be for serial ports.  Also, check to make sure that you have the 
right ports open in your Suse configuration to allow the print traffic 
through.

I don't know exactly what things to point you towards as I have no 
direct experience with this.  I did try and do something similar with a 
3Com device before but gave up with out resolving the issue.
