Seems like the past month has brought about a fair bit of discussion regarding workshops. But we don't have anything official yet, I don't want to leak tooo much info here just yet.. :) But as a teaser, there are two technical workshops being discussed, and in the early stages of planning. These are in various states of planning from different CLUG members. Hopefully we can tell you more about them shortly.
However, I just received a phone call from one of CLUG's affiliates, and they are interested in doing a small workshop/seminar for CLUG members on the topic of "what it means to be a contractor". This would include discussion of things like book keeping and tax write-offs, ethics/business acumen, billing, contracts, etc. From the sounds of things, this would be a short session of maybe 2 or 3 hours. Is there enough interest in the group for this? If so, I'll make the arrangements to make it happen.
