im using ubuntu and yes.. i got  it working with gtkpod  but i have to do this to mount my ipod
 mount -t vfat /dev/sdb2 /mnt/ipod
the default /media/ipod mount doesn't work correctly with gtkpod u needa mount it as vfat

ALSO if u use GTKPOD 0.94 it should work correctly after setting up ur ipod paths

if you use any thing newier the only way iv gotten it to run is by doing this

LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/usr/local/lib
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH

Then launch GTKPOD in the same consol

another trick is before you keep sync'ing music.. gtkpod might say the transfer is complete.. BUT this isn't always the truth.. check the ipod it should tell you if any data is being transfered by a little spitting icon in the top left

hopes this helps.. if ya got any other Q's lemme know :)

Wondering here as well...

Has anyone had any success with an iPod Nano fresh out of the box?

Trying to get a Nano to work with Kubuntu Breezy (5.10) with KDE 3.5.

I'll post more info tonight.

Thanks,
