I assume that this is for the nvidia driver?

Since I build my own kernels I have not run into this.  What version of
gcc does it detect (even better if you can tell me what version of gcc
was used to build the kernel)?

Also, what is the kernel version that you are running?
To get this info type the following:
uname -a

The output on my laptop looks like this:

Linux hadron 2.6.14-mm2-gbj01 #1 PREEMPT Mon Nov 28 13:31:39 MST 2005
i686 GNU/Linux

I do want the whole line.

I also want the output of gcc --version
