Runs nice and cool to, can be overclocked very nicely as well without the need for any refridgeration ;-) http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/ProductInformation/0,,30_118_9485_9487%5E9492,00.html Highly recommended On Fri, 20 Jan 2006 16:12:09 -0700, William Astle wrote > Martin Glazer wrote: > > Hi, > > > > I'm looking at getting myself a new machine and was wondering what the impact > > of getting a 64 bit processor was compared to getting a 32 bit, from a > > software compatibility standpoint. > > > > Can I still run in 32 bit mode on a 64 bit cpu - ie. standard kernel compile, > > etc? > > If going the 64 bit route, will I experience any compatibility issues with > > software applications? > > Do the applications have to be written / modified to run under 64 bit mode? > > With the Athlon64s, you can run in 32 bit mode.
