Interesting..... I was under the impression that Skype is just using the iLBC codec which would mean that given a good connection the call quality should be the same as other VoIP application (which use iLBC). Does Skype prehaps use a different streaming protocol? Encryption might mean that ISP profit enhancement, sorry packet shapping on non QoS accounts, might make a significant difference - Damm you Shaw!
