This is on topic because I am trying to get UMS firmware onto my new MP3 player so that I can use it on Linux. I need to install it under windows first. Sadly this device seems to require Windows Media Player. Sadly the software will not install on my legit Windows install (ie. I paid for the copy XP pro even though I rarely use it. So, now I have a piece of plastic that does nothing so far, under any OS. My troubleshooting begins with "error message not available". I am really feeling that this was money well spent. What really gets me is that 99% of the people out there simply don't seem to care about the real cost of the proprietary garbage that is rammed down our throats. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2.1 (Cygwin) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFFFKTzwRXgH3rKGfMRApkFAJ9QONQR9PaxsLxaRLWbNQRMno8BhwCePl9F oVkmcrok97O07HwmLlvgLu0= =Hlsp -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ clug-talk mailing list [email protected] http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-talk_clug.ca Mailing List Guidelines (http://clug.ca/ml_guidelines.php) **Please remove these lines when replying
