-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I have a new one, that is really cool (in temp) Nvidia video card, SATA hard drive, all things that should make for a smoking laptop. Sadly when using an SMP kernel there are random hard locks. The problem has something to do with APIC + AMD + some IRQ funkyness (that was APIC _not_ ACPI). The built in broadcomm is useless, even with ndiswrapper (the broadcomm in my last laptop worked with ndiswrapper, not so this time).
It will run memtest or a non SMP kernel for days (ie. it does not lock up, indicating kernel issues). Now that AMD is tainted with the evil of ATI, I think I will switch back to Intel.
