It makes me wonder if bittorrent type technology could be used to eliminate 
the need for these central servers and/or one hub with huge bandwidth. If you 
could utilize everyone's bandwidth somehow, you could hopefully do realtime 
video without a huge pipe.

If it was cross platform and open source that would be a sweet deal. Of 
course, this is not a small order :) sitting here thinking about it, it may 
not even work with real-time data.
