Replying to my own post yet again, my Samba configuration was based on 4 document source that I had, some on the web, some from books, but none was sufficient on their own. There are a couple of sources for PDC from the Internet that have been good for other topics and do hold promise.
Jarrod, if you are still interested in a postfix email server, that is something that I would not mind playing with. There are a lot of sources of documentation available on the web, just need to find one that suits our situation, some time to play with it and a few extra brain cells preferably not from the same corrupted genetic makeup. Just an aside, I have played with Samba and permissions last week and feel reasonably comfortable with it, however I have not looked at using Domains with PDC and BDC.
