Ok, now that the immediate problem seems to be resolved... Mitchell, you seem to dislike Drupal. How do you envision the site to run? Do you have something else in mind? Joomla? One of the many Wikis?
These are possible but will all need to deal with the same problem - if they are not maintained, they will cause grief. Ignoring the maintenance issue for now, CLUG has some needs that are not addressed by toooo many of the CMS packages out there. That is CLUG is a community organization, with a need for a community driven website. A standard business package isn't quite suitable. So, Lets open this discussion to everyone - Just what do we want the CLUG website to do? Do we need the forums? Do we need the blogs? Do we want to allow the general public to sign up? (turning this off is the surest way to prevent the spammers from taking part in the site - we currently have some 1000 spam accounts registered but disabled...) In short, "What is the purpose of the CLUG website?". Are we meeting that purpose? What do we have to do differently to meet that purpose? Shawn Mitchell Brown wrote: > Thanks Shawn.
