Hi Shawn, Yeah...I actually installed LiVES on the weekend and played around with it a bit. I think "beta mode" is a bit of an understatement! I had a whole lot of trouble getting it to do much. The first time I dismissed a dialog box (like the open clip box), it toasted my windows decortations and desktop apps. Even my virtual desktops vanished. I had to restart X to get everything working again. And then there was a serious video/audio sinc problem. A document I found at: http://www.reimeika.ca/lives/lives_guide.html includes this statement: "sound and video synchronization is rather poor in LiVES, an unfortunate setback when making an AMV. This can be ameliorated using the "divide and conquer" approach outlined above: edit your music video in sections by working on one fragment at a time..." I would probably learn to use it more if it wasn't for how it destroys my X environment...I wonder if anyone knows how to prevent this? Anyone? -- Peter Pankonin, digitalcrucible There are 10 kinds of people in the world, those who understand binary, and those who don't. _______________________________________________ clug-talk mailing list [email protected] http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-talk_clug.ca Mailing List Guidelines (http://clug.ca/ml_guidelines.php) **Please remove these lines when replying
