Hi Dick,

I am inquired the same thing with Dell and was told by our rep that you can
request a laptop with No-OS or Linux pre-installed. I am not sure if you
need to be under a business account or not, but I don't believe so.

If your work has an account set-up with them, you can even get it so that
you order it under that account and then pay for it with your credit card.

I know the kiosk mall monkeys don't know much and the consumer phone guys
may not know that much more. But check it out. I will check the notes I
had at work and if I find out more I will let you know. I might even be
able to get you a contact.

Cameron

I spoke with a Dell guy today about preloaded Linux on Dell machines in
Canada. He said it was going to happen soon, but he didn't have a date. He
asked me to e-mail him with my request as the more customers that express
interest the quicker it might happen. My request has been lodged. I'll keep
the list informed if people are interested.
