Puppy Linux or Damn Small Linux MAY install on this laptop with a GUI - check the requirements on their respective sites. If you're looking for something as far as command line stuff, I'm not sure which version would be good. As far as your other computers, you can test drive with the Kubuntu CD that Kevin recommended. You can boot up off the CD and run it as a Live CD to see if everything works. Using the Live CD will not affect your hard drive as long as you do not hit the INSTALL icon. Cheers!
