Hi All,

I have been trying to get the last Ubuntu dual-booting with Windows 2000
on an laptop, but for some reason it seems to get stuck part way through
the process and not want to go forward.

I have tried using a Live-CD and the alternate iso and it seems to
happen in the same place everytime. The parttions get set=up fine and
everything goes smooth until it hits the configuring apt and it seems to
stall on scanning the mirror. It only ever seems to get to 40% of the
whole process no matter how long I let it sit. I have tried it with the
system on and off of the docking station and without a network
connection but it all seems to crap out in the same place.

The only real difference with that way this system was before and what
it is now is that the laptop previously had Ubuntu 7.04 on it with the
whole hard drive and now I want to dual-boot it, so have split the hard
drive to accommodate a Windows Linux & a shared data drive.

The network card was working fine before and it looks like the DHCP
configuration happens correctly. I have also tried some of the other
install methods as well, and just can;t seem to get past this point.

For good measure I am even leaving the laptop to cool down before
attempts, but I have been trying this for a couple weeks now.
