I bought an HP Laser printer. I don't remember the model but it was when 300dpi was the max you could get for a home printer. I used the original toner for over five years. I obviously don't print much. Eventually it began to run out and I was tired of shaking the printer and hoping I could eke out another page. I decided to bite the bullet and get another toner and discovered I could get an entirely new 600dpi Laser printer (1012) for just a few dollars more than the toner! Now, to me that's really crazy. I can't even give it away because why would the next person buy the toner when he could also get a brand new machine. I hate throwing away a perfectly good machine (I still have it sitting somewhere idle), but it is all part of the disposable society. Doesn't that seem a little crazy?"
