-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Actually 4 gig is the limit. You can build a 32 bit kernel to access more memory but my understanding is that this is somewhat BIOS dependant. As always, YMMV.
The 4 gig limit is all memory, so this includes the memory on your video card (I think it is double the memory of your video card, depending on some of the bios settings). For laptops this is not usually an issue since most mobile GPUs use system RAM anyway. My Turion has a max of 2 gigs anyway. I have a dual core turion with a broadcomm 4311. Likely we can figure it out. This means that I will likely be at the meeting tonight :) For the record, HP notebook division and Broadcomm are my least favourite companies. Yes, I dislike them even more than SCO and Apple. Also for the record, I still run the 32bit version on my laptop for just this reason. Shawn wrote: | Mark is bang on here regarding the memory.
