Ubuntu/Kubuntu will shrink your existing "C:" drive to put Linux. However, that is not a lot of space. You'll need at least 5G for Linux. What about adding a second disk for Linux? Looking at MemoryExpress.com you can pick up a 80G Seagate for $49. Put Linux on the second disk!
