Ahhh...right. I haven't done that yet. So far, all I've done is transferred my old AtariST-512 files (Dr.T's Realtime) over to Rosegarden by capturing the midi events so that I could keep the old songs I sequenced in the 90s. > When > you get your external device, it should have a midi port, you will want > to use this one when the time comes. Ah, OK... > It depends on what you define as portable. Here is a pic of my rig: My rig fits into my backpack :) and I have access to various keyboards other than the ones at home so having my studio with me at all times is nice. > Also, a lot of people > who are new to open source Thanks...however, I'm not new to open source (or this list...I've been using linux since 1998 and have been a CLUG subscriber since 2002). I'm just new to the wonderful world of music with Linux (although this is a new email address as I lost my old one a little while back). My apology is because I do know better and really should have googled first (btw...esr's file certainly has grown a lot since the last time I read it). > ccmixter.org is a good place to go to find samples, loops, vocal tracks > etc. that you remix or use in your own pieces. freesound.org also has a > lot of samples.
