You may wish to read the white paper. It pretty much explains all the
acronyms, terms and concepts used.

noted and will be reading it soon.
And related to this, anyone have thoughts about putting together a CLUG
cloud?
Do you have some servers and bandwidth hidden away somewhere? I am in
I have some idle bandwidth. Enough for testing and/or low volume usage.
I'm not sure how much hardware has to be thrown at this - seems that
if it can run a Ubuntu Server install at a reasonable rate, it should be
sufficient. In that case, yes, I do have some hardware I can make use
of - though I'm probably looking at a new server soonish anyways.
I was thinking of doing a test run with Eucalptus before I have to
deploy it as a traditional VMWare server. Perhaps this could be a
weekend workshop? Between the two of us we can handle the hardware and
networking requirements, we would just need the space and power to work.
I'm sure we can find/arrange space. But I'm not sure if "workshop" is
quite the right term. :) I think it would be more of a work effort -
i.e. our effort to try to get the thing running. But that seems like a
cool sort of mentoring/knowledge sharing session.
Thoughts? Anyone else interested in taking part?
I can spearhead this (coordinate with the exec, book rooms, etc) if
there is enough interest.
